Liars debut album \”They Threw Us All In A Trench And Stuck A Monument On Top\” features nine tracks and was recorded over two days in Brooklyn, NY with producer Steve Revitte, best known for his work with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Beastie Boys.

Making their live debut in January 2001 at Brownies in New York, they spent the rest of the year playing dates throughout the USA, picking up a following and rave reviews along the way. It was during this time that the band came to the attention of Blast First’s Paul Smith and in January 2002, Liars signed a worldwide deal with Blast First/Mute.

\”By the end of the set they’re more Aphex Twin than Lee Ranaldo. The best krunk-art noise apes in knitwear you\’ll witness all century”
