The original game soundtrack to Syberia: The World Before, composed by Emmy-award winning and multi-BAFTA-nominated composer Inon Zur, and featuring Grammy-nominated Emily Bear on solo piano, gets a special vinyl 2LP pressing. Syberia: The World Before was named Best PC Game at the 2021 Gamescom Awards.

Syberia: The World Before is the fourth installment in the cult adventure game series – Syberia – created by late author and graphic novelist Benoît Sokal and published by Microids. This new game follows the incredible journey of two women across two time periods and is set in the fantastic and poetic world of Benoît Sokal’s Syberia. Dana Rose, in Vaghen, 1937, is beginning her brilliant career as a pianist and Kate Walker, in Taiga, 2004, is imprisoned in a salt mine.

“I’m absolutely thrilled and proud to return to the magical and evocative world of Syberia for the third time,” said Zur. “It is very personal to me since the story touches, in many places, the history of my own family. The amazing Benoît Sokal and the Microids team crafted a masterfully written story which I was so taken by, and the music came out from my deepest emotions. Zur’s soundtrack for Syberia: The World Before is a romantic suite for orchestra and solo pianist that transports the listener to a different world on every track. 19-year-old Bear’s piano playing is featured prominently in Zur’s soundtrack. She has already achieved groundbreaking success as a pianist, composer, and singer-songwriter and is a creator behind the Tik Tok phenomenon The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical.

The vinyl edition of Syberia: The World Before features concept drawings by late author and graphic novelist Benoît Sokal and is a tribute to the franchise’s visionary creator.
