The latest album from Paris based virtuoso organist Jean-Paul Imbert playing 8 composers on the theme of the ‘Passacaglia’, a musical form that originated in early seventeenth-century Spain and is still used today by composers. It is usually of a serious character and is often, but not always, based on a bass-ostinato and written in triple metre. The composers range from the 17th to to 21st century and include Bach, Buxtehude and Lionel Rogg.

This is a hybrid SACD format disc and is compatible with all CD players.

There is an additional Universal 5.1 test track devoted to setting up, measuring with pink noise and and balancing the channels on any SACD player. Features handy tracks to identify the correct channels and diagnose any set up difficulties with processors and universal players.
