1966 saw the Beatles wind down as a touring band. They played 13 cities in the USA, 3 in Germany, 1 in the Philippines and 5 shows at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, playing the same eleven songs at each venue. By editing out the song introductions, we have managed to get the whole 25 minutes of both shows the band recorded for NTV on to this LP. And because the Japanese audiences were a little more subdued, it’s possible to clearly hear the Beatles without the massed banks of screaming teenagers that they had become used to in the States. And the sound quality is excellent.
