For 50 plus years, a significant part of the excitement leading up to each new James Bond adventure in espionage has been the reveal of each film’s theme song and its recording artist. Many of music’s top stars have been honored to write and record new songs for 007, to see and hear their music brought to life in the films’ sultry opening credits and reprised in score pieces within the film.

1965’s Thunderball, the fourth Bond film in the legendary franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2015. John Barry’s accompanying soundtrack marked ‘The Man With The Midas Touch’s’ third consecutive Bond film score, a rich 12-track set propelled by Tom Jones’ thrilling title track and the evocative instrumental “Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” which was originally intended as the theme song before Mr. Jones left them no choice.
