Originally released in 1968, ‘Lady Soul’ contains some of Aretha Franklin’s biggest hits, and is regarded by critics as the one of the greatest Soul albums ever made. Backed by the magnificent gospel group the Sweet Inspirations and a guest spot from Eric Clapton, Franklin produced an album that peaked at no.2 in the US top 200, stayed in the charts for over a year, and went on to sell over a million copies.

The album’s success was undoubtedly helped by the strength of the 4 hit singles that it spawned. The legendary Chain Of Fools climbed to no.2 and was followed by another 2 top 10’s; (Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You’ve Been Gone and the classic (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. Finishing off the set is Ain’t No Way which also hit the top 20.

This stunning album from the Queen of Soul has been reissued from the analogue masters on 180g Vinyl, and contains the original artwork in a single pocket sleeve.
