There are a few bands that can claim to be truly influential but The Get Up Kids, a major global player in the second wave of the mid/late 90s emo scene, can rightfully take on that mantle. With a career spanning over 20 years and the seminal records ‘Four Minute Mile’ and ‘Something To Write Home About’ amongst others, they’ve influenced countless bands including the likes of Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and slew of commercially successful acts indebted to the scene the band came from. Now after seven years since their last record, the band are back with their eagerly awaited new EP – Kicker. Retaining that classic Get Up Kids sound, the new record features four tracks of their melodic indie punk rock, that will delight both old and new fans alike.
