As a member of both Rhys Chatham’s Guitar Army and Glenn Branca’s 100 Guitar Ensemble, and as a collaborator with the likes of Lee Renaldo and Jim Thirlwell, Lipstate has emerged as one of the most exciting and interesting guitarists of this era. With “Glacial Glow” Lipstate honed Noveller into what Pitchfork called “a stronger, bolder voice” giving “each track a distinct theme, telling wordless stories.” Originally released in 2011 as a limited edition on Weird Forest, following the success of her most recent “Fantastic Planet” album, Fire Records is reissuing the album to a wider audience.
