From 1988 until 1993, the Dutch doom / death metal band Dead End were considered one of the pioneers and the most promising ones in this style.

They got the attention of some great labels but, unfortunately, it never came to a full length release. Not until after the reunion in 2015.

After two demos (1991’s ‘Tales’ and ‘Purity’ from 1992) and the ‘Wartime In Eden’ 7” in 1993, the band split up.

The first songs had more pure Swedish death metal influences, from bands such as Dismember, Unleashed and Obituary, while the later songs from the second demo, with new bass player Alwin Roes (Wish, Stygian Dark), boasted more doom influences, from bands like Candlemass, My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost.

Vic Records released these tracks as a compilation in 2014 which quickly sold out. Now, Doc Records re-release this album on slipcase jewelcase CD and LP.
