Available for the first time on vinyl, Brainfeeder release a wonderful new deluxe edition of Austin Peralta’s critically acclaimed 2011 album, ‘Endless Planets’. It was, and remains, a landmark album in the Brainfeeder catalogue, marking the label’s first foray into jazz. Austin was an integral member of the Brainfeeder label family. Tragically he died on 21st November 2012 aged 22 years old. A truly prodigious talent on the piano, Austin effortlessly combined questing futurism with incredible musicianship and a healthy respect for the heritage of jazz. The new edition features four previously unreleased tracks recorded at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios in London in 2011 (including a live version of ‘DMT Song’ from FlyLo’s album ‘Until The Quiet Comes’) with Austin leading an all-star band comprising Richard Spaven (drums), Tom Mason (bass), Jason Yarde (alto sax), Heidi Vogel (vocals), and Jason Swinscoe of The Cinematic Orchestra on ‘electronics’. “A vast exploration of sound, Peralta shows you exactly who he is with this project. My hope is that you also love this album as I have throughout the years. Thank you Austin for ‘Endless Planets’.” – Thundercat For fans of Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, Miguel Atwood- Ferguson. Double vinyl with printed inners housed in a gatefold sleeve with spot varnish detailing. Includes bonus disc with previously unreleased live session tracks and digital download code. Original artwork by Strangeloop reworked by Adam Stover and Sean Preston. Creative direction by JC Caldwell. Austin was an LA native and son of JC Caldwell and Stacy Peralta. He was a remarkably talented pianist who played with the likes of Chick Corea, Hank Jones, Ron Carter, Thundercat, Erykah Badu, Shafiq Husayn, The Cinematic Orchestra, Allan Holdsworth, Virgil Donati and Horace Tapscott’s Pan Afrikan People’s Arkestra. Austin regularly collaborated with Thundercat including on ‘The Golden Age of Apocalypse’. He also appears on ‘Collections Vol.1’ by Teebs and cowrote and performed on the track ‘DMT Song’ on the Flying Lotus album ‘Until the Quiet Comes’ (2012). Austin composed and performed the score for the remastered documentary ‘What Happened to Kerouac?’ (2012). Thundercat’s song, ‘A Message for Austin’, on his album ‘Apocalypse’, is written in memory of Austin.
