Sixth album from probably the most recognizable and popular band in American rock follows 2005’s double set ‘In Your Honour’ and 2006’s unplugged live effort ‘Skin And Bones’. This release features a strong 70s stadium rock influence and sees the band letting rip and rocking out, with occasional moments of calm which highlight the depth and maturity of Dave Grohl’s songwriting. Recorded with Gil Norton, who produced their breakout album ‘The Colour And The Shape’, it includes the single ‘The Pretender’.

To say the Foo Fighters are on form at the moment would be something of an understatement! The warm up for the release of their sixth studio album has seen the band wowing audiences all summer..whether it’s at tiny secret sweaty gigs, or headlining festivals. Dave Grohl and the crew have been airing a selection of songs from “Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace” to rave reviews! If you ask Dave about the sound of the new album, you’ll get a typically cryptic response.
"It has always been my dream to mix Steely Dan with No Means No," says Dave.
The band’s previous album “In Your Honour” was an epic “coming of age” double album, mixing their trademark melodic rock with a more mature collection of acoustic tracks. “Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace” offers a similar mix of sounds, and even more experimentation. Given the shorter running time, the guys have spent more time on the arrangement and production of the tunes…there’s rock n roll, subtle instrumental ballads, Mars Volta-esque time signatures, finger picking and of course plenty of “verse-chorus-verse”. It’s a rollercoaster ride of an album but easily their most accomplished to date.
