For the latest release in our recently launched HIQLP series we hop over the Channel to France, epicentre of the 1960s yé-yé girl phenomenon. The “C’est Chic!” album comprises a dozen specially selected highlights from the top-selling CD of the same title (CDCHD 1283), issued to rave reviews on our Ace International label a couple of years ago.

Many of the premier female vocalists to emerge from France during the 60s are featured, including adorable cover girl France Gall, cult favourite Jacqueline Taïeb, top Gallic girl group Les Gam’s and iconic singer-songwriter Françoise Hardy. The album is pressed on 180g coloured vinyl and comes in a sumptuously illustrated heavy stock gatefold jacket featuring a 3,000 word track commentary by our in-house girl pop connoisseurs Malcolm Baumgart and Mick Patrick.
