Graham Central Station’s third album Ain’t No Bout-A-Doubt It (1975) expands on their Funk formula of tight bass-driven grooves, Gospel influenced choruses and uplifting lyrics. Their ability to transform Soul & Funk into Pop is virtually unsurpassed. Album opener “The Jam” is a mid-tempo “Dance To The Music”-like groover, with a massive drum break that has been used in over 40 Hip Hop tracks. “Your Love” follows and was a massive R&B hit in the mid-seventies. Their cover of Ann Peeble’s “I Can’t Stand The Rain” is of stellar proportions. Must have!
