By their thirteenth album, 1967’s transitional Wild Honey, the Beach Boys had well and truly left the beach and embraced sounds and topics that were now a part of the California zeitgeist; there’s psychedelia and even a hint of spiritual awareness. The Beach Boys were embracing a brave new world and did so with the rocking title track, a Stevie Wonder cover, the fabulous “Darlin” and ‘I’d Love Just Once to See You.”
