“Wide Open” has been considered an underground progressive rock classic by many fans and critics alike. Dennis Wilson’s (not the beach boy) vocals are a dead ringer for Eric Clapton’s while he was with cream. The music found on side one of the LP is more straight forward rock, while side two offers more progressive rock and spatter of the blues.
The album’s sound is a 9 on a scale of 10, which makes your listening experience that much more lively and electrifying. Their crowning glory is the track “parade of fools,” which is the best example of their authoritative sound. It closes the album out with a flourish of varied instrumentation and stellar lead vocals. Record Hunter has uncovered yet another lost jewel of prog-rock history. The album is housed in stunning gatefold sleeves with eye catching period artwork on the cover and black and white photos of the band inside.
