Sugarbush Records is proud to announce our first vinyl only album since 1990! Sugarbush Records SB300 is the catalogue number for THE DUKES OF KENT “WELCOME TO THE OAST HOUSE” album.

Recorded between 2010 and 2012 this great album is the first by this band which includes the duo of MARKUS HOLLER & CHRIS GUSSMAN. Recorded in rural Crowborough in East Sussex, this album of nine songs blends 70s style Rock, West Coast, Psych, Folk and Americana.

The boys are big fans of ROLLING STONES, ALLMAN BROTHERS, NEIL YOUNG, TOM PETTY, CHEAP TRICK, HENDRIX as well as many more and each of those artists has influenced this LP. The songs are filled melodic hooks and deeply personal lyrics while guitars jangle and chime and Markus & Chris play stunning solos. In fact, it needs to be mentioned that the guitar playing is a real highlight on this album and it is great to hear such fine playing. Each song springs excellent surprises and as a whole this album will please any fan of 1960s / 70s American Guitar Music.

Markus has previously played with SILENT BLUE, THE FORTUNATE SONS and THE ORGONE BOX while lead guitarist Chris Gussman has his own band KINKY MACHINE who released a rollicking Hard Rock CD some years back. The album also features Pablo Videla on drums and Iain Rae (ex GALLAGHER & LYLE) on piano. WELCOME TO THE OAST house is limited to 500 copies on vinyl with no CD release and no downloads planned as yet. The album has been beautifully mastered by PINK FLOYD’S engineer, Andy Jackson, and can be considered an audiophile pressing as the cut was also done with extreme care and the LP is pressed on 150gm virgin vinyl.
