Born in Yorkshire, England, multi-instrumentalist Dominic Harrison aka Yungblud follows-up his debut album21st Century Liability with the new six track EP, The Underrated Youth. The artist launched the title single earlier in 2019 with politically charged projections on the Houses of Parliament and pandemonium on the streets of London. The New York Times observed, “The solipsism of the moody side of Lil Peep-adjacent SoundCloud rap meets the grandeur of 1990s arena-Britpop.” Harrison wrote the song and produced it alongside Zakk Cervini and Chris Greatti. The EP also includes the previously released “Parents,” which Paper praised as a “Defence” of the unheard voices in a losing battle against authority.” Stereogum called Yungblud’s music “undeniably potent” and noted that he, “dissects the hypocrisy of his elders more sharply than most.” WhileYungblud’s music deals explicitly with the issues faced by his generation, it also resounds with hope and a vision of unity.
