From the remnants of schizo-pop acrobats Seal Cub Clubbing Club comes Loved Ones, a group based around lead singer Nik Glover and Richard Hurst from brutal psych-rockers The Laze.

Wirral’s Loved Ones stitch together genre elements from folk, dub, glitch, hip hop and psych music, to create off the wall, lo-fi, experimental pop music which will appeal to fans of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Why? and Woods.

The band’s debut album, ‘The Merry Monarch’, is a twisted ‘Basement Tapes’-esque cornucopia of sweet love songs, glitchy beats and blessed out melancholia. · The gatefold LP is limited to 500 copies and features lavish artwork by Smiling Wolf.

Loved Ones were winners of the inaugural Liverpool GIT (Get Into This) Awards in 2012.
