180g Vinyl LP Reissue Mastered 100% AAA Analog by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio & Pressed at RTI.

Intervention Records is thrilled to reissue The Flying Burrito Bros. classic 1969 debut, The Gilded Palace of Sin on 180g vinyl. Headed by former Byrds Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman, The Flying Burrito Bros. are widely viewed as the inventors of country rock and one of the most influential bands of all time. The Gilded Palace of Sin (#192 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time) is not only FBB’s finest work, it’s a true classic full of some of the greatest tunes ever written and sung by Parsons and Hillman.

It’s all thrilling: the country-ish covers of soul classics such as “Dark End of the Street,” the distorted pedal-steel fills of Sneaky Pete Kleinow, and the classic country-rock compositions like the bluegrassy draft-dodger’s anthem “My Uncle” and the amazingly twangy critique of capitalism, “Sin City.” Along with the Byrds’ Sweetheart of the Rodeo, this is the premier example of Parsons and Hillman’s prescient hippie-from-Muskogee aesthetic.

The Gilded Palace of Sin was mastered 100% AAA analogue by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the best source available – a phenomenal sounding 1/2″ safety copy of the original stereo master tape. All of the top-end energy and “snap” of the original A&M LP is preserved, while the bass foundation is fully restored to make this new Intervention reissue the definitive listening experience for this classic album. The original LP art has also been restored by Tom Vadakan and the old-style, “tip-on, brown-in” LP jacket will be printed by Stoughton.
