Originally released in 1988, ‘First Of A Million Kisses’ launched the career of Fairground Attractions lead vocalist Eddi Reader who went on to receive a MBE in 2006 for her outstanding contribution to the arts which included her album of Robert Burns material with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

The album and the No1 single ‘Perfect’ both won best album and single respectively at the 1989 Brit Awards. A refreshing blend of folk, jazz, country and even a bit of cajun, the album was a runaway success, eventually being certified platinum. The album featured four singles; ‘Perfect’, ‘Find My Love’, ‘A Smile In A Whisper’ and ‘Clare’.
