American folk duo the Civil Wars appeared with their Grammy-nominated debut Barton Hollow in 2011, only to split mid-tour a year later. Citing “internal discord” and “irreconcilable differences of ambition,” they still managed to complete their eagerly anticipated, self-titled second record. The video for the first single “The One That Got Away” features the duo recording together in a dramatic and powerful song that introduces drums and more instrumentation to their sound, alongside singer John Paul White’s acoustic guitar.
