· Soul Jazz Records’ Universal Sound label are proud to present the reissue of Michael White’s ‘Spirit Dance’, originally released on Impulse Records in 1972.

· Deep spiritual jazz released in limited edition luxurious CD box, as well as a heavyweight 180gm audiophile double vinyl edition cut at 45-rpm in a deluxe gatefold sleeve.

· This is the debut album from Michael White, released on Impulse Records in 1972. Michael White’s deep, spiritual jazz fitted in perfectly with the roster of artists at the Impulse label at the start of the 1970s, including Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and Archie Shepp, in addition to the label embarking on a healthy release program of unheard John Coltrane and rare Sun Ra material.

· By the time he’d recorded his debut for the jazz label, White had already played on Pharoah Sanders’ ‘Thembi’ album, and had been a part of the ensemble that Alice Coltrane had assembled to augment recordings of her late husband John on her album ‘Infinity’.

· White would go on to record five albums for the Impulse! label throughout the 1970s.
