Buddy Guy was one of the recipients of 2012’s Kennedy Center Honors, a lifetime achievement award in the performing arts — Guy was honoured along with Dustin Hoffman, David Letterman and Led Zeppelin. Over the course of his 50 plus years in music, Guy has racked up several other honours including six Grammy Awards, a 2010 Blues Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award, 23 W.C. Handy Awards (more than any other artist) and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, among others.
