Raw Youth Collage is the sophomore project from Grammy-nominated British artist Mura Masa. It is intended to be a conceptual album focusing on the need for / dependency on nostalgia and regression in the wake of the often helpless feeling amongst today’s youth culture; there is a general melancholia surrounding a past excitement and innocence that is longing to be recaptured, but may never have existed. Musically, these ideas will be explored through influences familiar to Alex Crossan from his childhood, including wide ranging guitar based music, idealistic club/dance music and other relics of the late 90’s and early 00’s. Collaborators were asked to write and contribute with these themes and references in mind.
