The next stage in The Gossip’s plan to take over the world was to sign to a major label and start work on a brand new album. Undoubtedly the art-punk trio expect to broaden their appeal with a more accessible sound with their brand new album “Music For Men”, and as singer Beth Ditto says, \”There\’s a shit-load of love songs in there. Writing down the tracklisting, we had about 14 songs and seven had the word \”love\” in the tile. I had no idea I was so romantic.\”

Let’s hope that this new approach doesn’t detract too much from the frenetic energy of “Standing In The Way Of Control” that got them noticed in the first place! I’m sure producer Rick Rubin knows what he’s doing, his “Midas touch” in the studio hasn’t failed yet!!
