In the 80’s, while punk rock, power-pop and new wave were dominating the charts, The Moody Blues showed their resilience against the changing trends with the release of 1981’s Long Distance Voyager, their second No. 1 album in the States. Produced by Pip Williams (Status Quo) and serving as the band’s first with Refugee/Yes keyboardist Patrick Moraz who replaced co-founder Mike Pinder, it yielded the two hit singles “The Voice” and “Gemini Dream” and also includes contributions from pedal steel guitarist B.J. Cole and the New World Philharmonic.
