Formed in 1968 as a progressive rock band, Deep Purple changed their sound in 1970 and became one of the true pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, considered part of the “unholy trinity” of the genres along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

Live In Concert ’72 is the recording of the gig performed on 9th March 1972 at The Paris Theatre in London, for BBC Sounds Of The Seventies. The record contains the only live known recording of “Never Before”, which was out as a single at the time, and a rare version of “Maybe I’m A Leo”, and both songs were performed to promote “Machine Head”, due for release at the end of March 1972.
This version includes bonus 7” single Lucille b/w Maybe I’m A Leo (Soundcheck version).
