RJ Thompson has become a familiar name on the UK scene. He has toured extensively with artists such as Jools Holland, Gabrielle Aplin and Gabriella Cilmi and his music has been supported by BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio Two. Beyond the music and live shows, Thompson has always strived to create a unique, authentic experience for his fans. With the release of his new album Lifeline set for October 2020, RJ has collaborated with Spark Emerging Technologies to produce the world’s first ever-evolving augmented reality album cover and sleeve. The idea is simple, yet brilliant and mirrors the main themes of his new album: reflection and nostalgia. By using the associated IOS & Android app (for phones and tablets), the album artwork will ‘come alive’ for the fan, with changing backgrounds, motion graphics, videos, musical interactions and more. The front cover, a picture of RJ and his brother as kids at Blackpool beach, has the ability to change background depending on time of day and weather.
