Strange Ranger (fka Sioux Falls) is an Indie-Rock / Post-Punk band from Montana, now based out of Portland, Oregon. Formed by Isaac Eiger and Fred Nixon and solidified by the duos mutual love of early Modest Mouse, the bands breakthrough debut full-length, the sprawling Rot Forever, was named one of Consequence of Sounds Top 50 Albums of 2016. Available on CD and Red vinyl.

Over the course of last Winter, Strange Ranger recorded its second full-length, Daymoon. Naturally evolving from the expansiveness of Rot Forever in favor of a smarter and more focused approach, the album transmits as something uniquely hushed and organic. While previous material felt more like a band exploring numerous diverse avenues, Daymoon pulls back and showcases heightened attention to detail. Still, the honest, heart-on-sleeve songwriting remains, even if the band has chosen subtler paths to deliver its message. Daymoon is a tasteful and nuanced evolution for Strange Ranger – one that will undoubtedly serve as a bridge to the bands con- tinuing and singular evolution.
