‘Close To The Edge’ was the fifth album by English band Yes, who were regarded as one of the pioneers of the progressive rock genre. Formed around long-form pieces, the record started a trend for the band of structuring and album around a single epic song. The trend clearly worked as the album charted at number 4 in the UK and number 3 in the US, during a stay of 32 weeks.

At arguably their creative peak, Yes produced an opus that was released to critical acclaim in 1972 and eventually went platinum in the US, UK and Canada. Home to the signature piece, Siberian Khatru, the album is regarded as one of the most important of the progressive rock genre, and has now been reissued on 180g vinyl with the original artwork in a gatefold sleeve.
