Chicago 2 is composed of 4 side long suites, an idea that may sound pompous but that actually works very well. Here you can hear that stunning “25 or 6 to 4” and the brilliant ballad “Colour My World”. Lots of little intrumental interludes and codas everywhere. The six song suite “Ballet for a girl in Buchannon” is superb and politics can still be found in the 5 song suite “It Better End Soon”. Lots of classical references here too, fine guitar playing and excellent lyrics make this an essential Chicago album – some would say that you only need to own the first two Chicago albums, and I would not disagree!
