Tennis Bafra is one of the original indie rock bands from the early nineties. The difference between them and the ones you heard of back then is that they stayed in their rehearsal space for 15 years before they started touring and releasing records. Not because they didn’t want to release stuff and play live, but because their priority was always to hang out and play together. Writing loud guitar driven rock along the lines of Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Polvo and Mudhoney always seemed more fun then mailing record labels and concert venues. However, in 2010, Nomethod Records picked up Tennis Bafra and released their first record to the critics praise. They also toured Europe, supported Dinosaur Jr, Thurston Moore, Polvo and played the Way out West Festival.

Now they’re back with their second LP, “Bummer”. Some songs on ‘Bummer’ have parts that were written as early as 1994 when the band first started. Since it took quite some time for Tennis Bafra to release their first album in 2012 most of their songs had been forgotten over the years. A few riffs stuck with them though and some of those are to be found on this record. All songs were recorded live using nothing but guitars and drums. The world needs Tennis Bafra desperately.
